Screening for disease has conventionally been directed towards large groups and the success of screening programs has been limited. Diseases have determined treatment regimes without an understanding of the complexities and various subgroups of many common conditions. This presentation will discuss more targeted approaches to screening and specific treatments based on increasing understanding of disease mechanisms and contributing and modifying factors. Significantly improved outcomes are starting to be achieved.
